On Tuesday Sept. 9, William Overstreet, former linebacker of the Tennessee Volunteers and the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, will lecture on Voices Heard Media, a patent-pending process that analyzes questions and groups like questions together. This technology has been successfully deployed in sports and entertainment. Mr. Overstreet, CEO of VHM, will discuss recent deployments of VHM and future prospects. All students are required to write a two-paragraph report summarizing Mr. Overstreet's lecture. This summary is due at the beginning of class on Tuesday, Sept 16.

Mr. Overstreet was drafted by the Falcons in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of UT where he was a captain on the 2001 UT team. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He played high school football at Jackson (Miss.) Prep. Prior to signing with the Vols in February of 1998, the Clarion-Ledger newspaper named Overstreet the 1997 Metro-Jackson Area Player of the Year and selected him as a member of their All-State team. He retired from the NFL after continued shoulder injuries, and graduated with his MBA (from UT) in Finance in December 2006.

Curtis Jones and other representatives of Voices Heard Media will visit class on Thursday, Nov. 20 to review the results of the Task 2 projects.

Deidre Ford of SWORPS will visit class on Tuesday, Nov. 24 to answer any questions regarding the KnoxHMIS data defining the Task 3 project.
