The Integrated Modeling Project is using measurement information for
inputs to simulation models and the simulators are generating extensive
outputs. We choose to make a distinction between sources of information
by using the word data for measured or calibrated sources of
information and the invented word sima for the output from models.
Distinction between GIS databases and model-generated simabases will aid
interpretation of forest assessments in the Integrated Modeling Project.
