Material to be covered: We will cover chapters 1 through 5 in the book. We may cover parts of chapter 6 and 11 and 12. We will not cover each topic in as great a depth as the book does, so you will need to come to class to find out what to be concerned about.

Class Policies:
Working together on homeworks is permitted, copying is considered cheating. If you cannot do the work by yourself, then you will have trouble on the tests.
The penalty for late homeworks is 5 points per day.
Homeworks may be turned in late only until the beginning of the next class period after the homework was due.
If you must miss a quiz or an exam for a non-emergency reason, you must get the instructor's permission to take a make-up test.
