- Quiz 1: February 4
- Mid-term Exam: March 6
- Quiz 2: April 3
- Note: The exam schedule may be changed by the instructor. Notice will be given
in class.

- Material to be covered:
We will cover chapters 1 through 5 in the book. We may cover parts of
chapter 6 and 11 and 12. We will not cover each topic in as great a
depth as the book does, so you will need to come to class to find out
what to be concerned about.

- Class Policies:
- Working together on homeworks is permitted, copying is considered cheating. If you
cannot do the work by yourself, then you will have trouble on the tests.
- The penalty for late homeworks is 5 points per day.
- Homeworks may be turned in late only until the beginning of the next class period
after the homework was due.
- If you must miss a quiz or an exam for a non-emergency reason, you must get the
instructor's permission to take a make-up test.
