TITLE: DSP/FPGA EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM
A printed circuit board containing both a DSP (Texas Instruments
C6x) and a FPGA (Xilinx Virtex) is now available at a reduced
price for educational institutions. The SBC6x can be used for
software and hardware co-verification for communication signal
processing. The board presently supports either the XCV300 or
the XCV800 (but not the Virtex-II). The price for universities
in North America is $2,995 (US) and $3200 elsewhere.
The SBC6x is a low-cost/educational version of the 'C67x-based
SignalMaster which does support up to XC2V6000. The educational
discount on the hardware is 15% (except for the SBC6x which is
already educationally priced).
Also, the vendor gives a 50%-educational discount on associated
software which includes MATLAB/SIMULINK and System Generator from
Xilinx.
