TITLE: FAST BIT-TRUE SIMULATION

Bit-true simulation can now be performed 20-400 times faster than
conventional library-based simulation using a new design
environment developed by researchers at Aachen University of
Technology in Aachen, Germany. This type of simulation is needed
when developing fixed-point digital signal processing algorithms
for hardware implementation. DSP, FPGA and ASIC implementations
are often superior in terms of power consumption, chip size and
price per device as compared to general-purpose floating-point
solutions.

An overview of the research can be found at: AACHEN.

A paper describing the simulation technique may be found at: BIT-TRUE.
