TITLE: WEB-BASED LEARNING PLATFORM FOR MICROELECTRONICS

A consortium of universities and industrial companies in Europe
has initiated Project LIMA (Learning Platform in Microelectronic
Application) to provide on-line training in three critical
disciplines of microelectronics design and test: design under
EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) constraints, RF design, and
analogue/mixed signal design. The course material includes
theoretical as well as practical design knowledge on different
levels from basic to advanced. However, the main focus of LIMA
is the presentation of state-of-the-art electronic design
automation tools like a VHDL-AMS simulator or EMC software. LIMA
is sponsored by the European Union and is being carried out by
three educational centers and eight industrial partners from four
countries. The training platform includes interfaces which
permit remote access to tools which may be located physically in
different places.
