An embedded system is one that relies on a microprocessor or a
microcontroller chip placed within a product. The computer chip
directs the operation of a system, but it does not have the usual
computer interface to the user. Examples include microwave ovens,
DVD players, televisions, and automobiles. A typical car today
has 30 computers, all in embedded systems.
