Virage Logic has announced that more than 100 million units of
its Self-Test and Repair (STAR) Memory System have been shipped.
The STAR Memory System improves yield via on-chip testing and
repairing of designs embedding megabits of memories. The STAR
Memory System is used in high-volume products such as MP3
players, gaming stations, and cellular phones. The company was
founded in 1996 and offers semiconductor intellectual property
(IP) platforms that tightly integrate physical IP (memory, logic
and I/Os) with the embedded test, diagnostic, and repair
capabilities of its own infrastructure IP.
