TITLE: Official SCMOS Technology File for MAGIC
Official SCMOS Technology File for MAGIC
(Originally broadcast to MOSIS Liason Users)
Many integrated circuit designers use MAGIC,
the popular graphical editor that was developed
by the University of California, Berkeley.
MOSIS recommends that you do not use the scmos.tech file that is
distributed with this version of MAGIC since it is not frequently
updated. Instead, users should obtain the officially sanctioned
SCMOS technology file that is called "scmos_tech.uu" and is
available via anonymous FTP from "ftp.mosis.edu". This file has
been used extensively and is constantly updated.
To retrieve the file, login to "ftp.mosis.edu" with username
"anonymous" and supply your net-address as the password. Once
connected, change directory to "pub/mosis/magic" and type
"get scmos_tech.uu". Place the file in an empty subdirectory of
its own before proceeding with the following sequence of com-
mands:
(1) uudecode scmos_tech.uu
--this will decode the file and result in a compressed
scmos_tech.tar.Z file.
(2) uncompress scmos_tech.tar.Z
--this will uncompress the file and result in a
scmos_tech.tar file.
(3) tar -fvlx scmos_tech.tar
--this will extract the files.
