Xilinx-User's International Forum on Internet
(Contributed by Randall Smith of Sandia Labs)
The Xilinx-User's International Forum (XIUF) (pronounced zi'uf)
was established for the users of Xilinx's XC4000 Field Programm-
able Gate Arrays (FPGA's). With today's levels of device and tool
complexity, the need to share user experience has never been
greater. The goal of the forum is to increase user productivity
through the sharing of field knowledge. Like many other forums,
this user-created forum is a grass-roots effort and has no affil-
iation with Xilinx, Incorporated. XIUF exists as an UNMODERATED
Internet mailing list which is simply an email address that
redistributes all posted messages to its members. Users are en-
couraged to discuss topics such as tool problems/features, work-
arounds, design ideas, and device architecture insight.
Messages are POSTED to the mailing list with the Internet address:
xilinx-users@sandia.gov.
To JOIN the mailing list, send a message to
xilinx-users-request@sandia.gov
with one or more of the following request instructions,
one per line, single spaced (max of 10):
list:add email_address - adds requester to the mailing
list with the specified
preferred address.
list:del email_address - removes the requester at the
specified preferred address.
Although the forum exists as an Internet mailing list, it is
accessible from other networks and email services. For example,
xilinx-users may be reached from CompuServe with:
