"CMOS Digital Integrated Circuits: Analysis and Design" (ISBN 0-
07-038046-5), by Steve Kang (University of Illinois, Urbana-
Champaign) and Yusuf Leblebici (Istanbul Tech University), starts
with CMOS processing, and then covers MOS Transition Models,
basic CMOS gates, dynamic circuits, memory circuits, Bi CMOS cir-
cuits, I/O circuits, VLSI design methodologies, design for
manufacturability and design for testability. This text provides
rigorous treatment of basic design concepts with detailed exam-
ples. It addresses both design concepts and computer aided
analysis - for most of the circuit examples, SPICE simulation
results are provided for illustration.
Distinctions of this text include:
* Systematic development of CMOS circuit principles in Chapters
1-8 provide an in-depth understanding of CMOS design.
* From chapter 4 onwards, SPICE simulation results are provided
to assist in the computer aided analysis of CMOS circuits.
* In-depth analysis of high speed dynamic circuits is given in
Chapter 9.
* Rigorous treatment of memory circuits in Chapter 10, where
state of the art illustrations of memory technology are used con-
cerning various memory circuits such as ROM, SRAM and DRAM.
* Systematic design and analysis of I/O circuits in Chapter 11.
