FILENUMBER: 7010 BEGIN_KEYWORDS Reconfigurable Interconnect Peripheral Processor Board END_KEYWORDS DATE: july 1994 TITLE: Reconfigurable Interconnect Peripheral Processor Board Reconfigurable Interconnect Peripheral Processor Board (Contributed by Nick Tredennick of Altera Corp.) An ISA-bus-compatible PLD-based reconfigurable logic board, designed by Dave Van den Bout of Xess Corporation (designer of the AnyBoard) is available from Altera. The board contains the bus driver/receivers, an EP330, an EPF8452, four 128Kx8 SRAMs, and eight empty sockets which can accommodate either an Altera EPF81188 FLEX device (12,000 usable gates) or an IQ160 programm- able interconnect chip (mounted on a special adapter). The board requires an IBM-compatible PC with an ISA bus slot. You must have Altera's Max+Plus II software development tools with FLEX support. (The Max+Plus II development tools require 16MB of RAM.) If you need EPF81188s, please contact your local distributor. Altera began shipping the reconfigurable interconnect peripheral processor (RIPP 10) product in May. For $995 you get the ISA bus PC board, a diskette with essential utilities, a preliminary user's manual, and a short cable for the external connector. The board should be ordered directly from Altera (as opposed to ord- ering from a distributor). If you have an interesting application for the board or would like to obtain more information about the RIPP 10 product, please contact: Nick Tredennick TEL: (408)-894-8000 FAX: (408)-433-3945 nickt@altera.com
