50,000-gate Prototyping Module Available

Altera has begun shipping the EPF8050M, a multi-chip module  that
has  50,000  usable gates, 4,656 registers, and 360 I/O pins in a
560-pin PGA package. It is ideally suited for  prototyping  large
designs.  Software support is provided as part of the MAX+PLUS II
development toolset which  can  accept  VHDL  or  Verilog  source
files.   Version  5.0 of the software includes a floorplan editor
and a multi-part partitioner. It runs on PCs  and  UNIX  machines
including SUN, HP and DEC Alpha workstations.
