MOSAID's Semiconductor Division is currently undergoing a high growth 
period and is looking for people at all levels in VLSI Design, Layout, 
Test, CAD, Applications, Sales and Marketing. We traditionally have 
specialized in memory design but are now expanding into other 
analog/digital design areas and Application Specific Memories.

In addition to the permanent positions, we also have some openings for 
temporary positions, i.e. coops or students who are interested in 
taking a short break from their graduate studies.

SENIOR IC DESIGNER / PROJECT LEADER

To support our thrust in Application Specific Memory Components and 
the increased demand for our full-custom memory design services, 
MOSAID is looking for seasoned CMOS IC Designers and Project Leaders.  
Applicants should have full-custom and/or ASIC design methodology 
experience and the ability to lead and motivate design teams.  These 
positions offer the opportunity to design advanced IC products 
including Dynamic RAMs, Static RAMs, Synchronous Dynamic RAMs, 
Graphics RAMs, Application-Specific RAMs, D/A converters, PLLs, DLLs 
and high-speed logic circuits.

Qualifications:  a university engineering/applied science degree, or 
equivalent, with 5+ years experience in full-custom and/or ASIC VLSI 
design.  Those applying to this position should be capable of meeting 
aggressive schedules, possess innovative technical skills and have 
leadership qualities.

VLSI FULL-CUSTOM DESIGN ENGINEER

Working in a team environment, you will contribute to the development 
of modern CMOS memory and signal processing chips.  This position 
offers the opportunity to design full-custom IC products including 
Dynamic RAMs, Static RAMs, Synchronous Dynamic RAMs, D/A converters, 
PLLs, DLLs and high speed logic circuits.  The successful candidate 
will have previous experience in MOS memory design, analog MOS 
semiconductor design at the transistor level or digital MOS design, 
and a related university degree or equivalent.  Experience using IC 
design CAD tools such as MENTOR Graphics or CADENCE are assets.

APPLICATION SPECIFIC IC DESIGN ENGINEER

In this position, you will participate in the development of CMOS 
devices combining high-density memory with application specific logic. 
 Required qualifications include an engineering degree or equivalent 
and experience with ASIC design methodologies, hardware description 
languages, logic synthesis, and place-and-route software.  Experience 
using MENTOR Graphics or CADENCE tools and familiarity and interest in 
full custom design is desirable


IC CAD TECHNOLOGIES SPECIALIST

Working independently with input from the user community, you will help 
research, acquire, evaluate, develop and enhance our existing CAD 
tools.  Additionally, you will help with the integration of different 
CAD tools into MOSAID's environment, write high-level macros for the 
CAD tools, design custom software when required, and provide user 
support, as well as being involved in tool supplier liaison.

Qualifications:  a university computer science/engineering degree, or 
equivalent, with 2 years of relevant experience.  Experience with 
workstations (HP or Sun) and UNIX operating systems and working 
knowledge of C programming and/or software development.  Familiarity 
with IC design CAD software (MENTOR Graphics, CADENCE or similar) is 
essential.  Both senior and junior level candidates are invited to 
apply.


INTEGRATED CIRCUIT LAYOUT DESIGNER

Working as a member of the layout team, your responsibilities will 
include layout design for full-custom projects and/or application 
specific projects.  Opportunities also exist for applicants with 
layout floor planning and/or team leadership experience.  Candidates 
require experience with full-custom and automated IC layout and 
verification tools such as MENTOR GRAPHICS or CADENCE.  More senior 
applicants should have experience with the set up of advanced IC 
design tools such as DRACULA or Gate Ensemble.  Candidates for these 
positions should be familiar with CMOS circuits and be capable of 
creative solutions to complex layout situations.


APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

Working as a member of the marketing team, you will be responsible for 
the applications support of both JEDEC standard memory and ASM 
(application specific memory) designs.  Specific responsibilities 
include:  developing technical specifications for licensed products, 
writing datasheets and applications notes, providing training to the 
sales force and customers, and developing high level and system level 
simulation models for customers.

Qualifications required include:  engineering degree or equivalent with 
3+ years' experience in semiconductor design or applications with an in 
depth knowledge of graphics an/or telecom design.  The ideal candidate 
will be a results oriented, energetic self starter with a willingness 
to travel to customer sites.

MANAGER, ASM MARKETING

As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for all 
Application Specific Memory Marketing issues, both design and 
component licensing within the Semiconductor Division.  Specific 
responsibilities include:  identifying markets and product 
opportunities for MOSAID ASM Design Licensing and Component 
initiatives, interfacing with customers to determine product 
requirements, working with Engineering and Applications to define the 
product and plan the development project, setting business objectives 
in conjunction the with sales team, representing MOSAID at outside 
functions and managing the ASM Marketing group.

Qualifications required include:  Engineering degree or equivalent 
with 8+ years' work experience and 3+ years' experience in 
semiconductor sales and marketing.  An MBA degree would be an asset.  
The ideal candidate will be a results oriented, energetic self starter 
with a willingness to travel to customer sites.

MANAGER, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Manager, Intellectual Property will be responsible for all 
Intellectual Property (IP) issues within the Semiconductor Division.  
This will include: encouraging new IP protection by working with the 
engineering group to identify potential patents; coordinating 
trademark, maskworks and patent filings; protecting MOSAID's existing 
IP by monitoring unlicensed use; identifying licensing opportunities; 
and managing and administering the IP function within the 
Semiconductor Division.

Qualifications required include:  engineering degree or equivalent 
with 3 years' patent work experience, preferably as a registered 
patent agent.  The ideal candidate will have background in IP 
licensing and contract, with the ability to work directly with patent 
lawyers and patent agents.  This position requires an energetic, self 
-starter who is comfortable working with customers and 
sub-contractors, and in traveling to customer sites.

PRODUCT TEST ENGINEER

As a key member of the Semiconductor Engineering team, you will be a 
lead engineer in the preparation of test verification software, 
including: Characterization, Debug and Yield improvement software for 
our growing portfolio of standard JEDEC and Application Specific 
Memory Products. You will interface with; the design team, product 
design engineers and our customers who are primarily based in the Far 
East

Qualifications required include: Bachelor's degree in electrical 
engineering or equivalent with 3 year's experience in a test / design 
debug environment. An understanding of both digital design as well as 
C programming skills are required. The ideal candidate in addition to 
excellent communications skills will be an energetic self starter, 
respond positively under stress and be willing to travel if necessary 
for extended periods.

IC PRODUCT ENGINEER

As a key member of the Semiconductor Engineering team, you will be a 
lead engineer working with our design teams to develop testability into 
our growing portfolio of standard JEDEC and Application Specific Memory 
Products parts and ensuring their timely transfer into production. You 
will use state of the art analysis techniques such as: E-Beam and Pico 
Probing, LCD analysis and FIB in your work and will interface both with 
our design teams and our customers who are primarily based in the Far 
East

Qualifications required include: Bachelor's degree in electrical 
engineering or equivalent with 3 year's experience in a test / design 
debug environment and an understanding of digital design and design 
for test. The ideal candidate in addition to excellent communications 
skills will have strong analytical skills, respond positively under 
stress and be willing to travel if necessary for extended periods.
