ASICs--The--Website is the second part of a research project in
computer-assisted education. The first part was the completion
of a book entitled "Application-Specific Integrated Circuits" or
ASICs--The--Book by Prof. Mike Smith. It's available from
Addison-Wesley as ISBN 0-201-50022-1.

Mike chose to use integrated-circuit design as the subject of this research project because it is so complex. It took him over five years to complete ASICs--The--Book. With the help of his students at the Univ. of Hawaii, he began ASICs--The--Website in July, 1997 as a companion.

If you teach microelectronic systems design you should find the resources at this website useful. The contents include the complete text and figures online in a form that can be read by a single user as well as projected in class, all figures in various graphic formats for various platforms so you can adapt and use them for your own classes, all the Spice, Verilog, and VHDL code examples, and many (but not all) of the answers to the textbook problems.

If you are interested in helping further this research project, please contact Mike at: msmith@eng.hawaii.edu =================================================================
