MIROTECH

Saint Laurent, QC, Canada. July 30, 1998:

====  INTRODUCING UPRO-99  ====

MiroTech Microsystems Inc. is pleased to announce its new university
program, UPRO-99, which has been established to help promote the
development of DSP environments on FPGA-based reconfigurable computing
platforms. This program offers Electrical and Computer Engineering
departments in universities world-wide, easy and affordable access to
MiroTech's commercial-grade of High Performance Reconfigurable Computing
(HPRC) solutions. UPRO-99, provides substantial discounts on these
solutions and includes complete development packages from Minc (Synario) or
Synplicity and free Alliance or Foundation tools from Xilinx.

Prices for MiroTech's reconfigurable computing platforms (including
MiroTech and Xilinx FPGA development tools) start as low as $2,290 and
represent discounts in the order of 50% over current market prices. Trial
purchase orders on a 30-day program are also available. For an up-to-date
price list, eligible university customers (faculty, departments, and other
members) can contact MiroTech at 800-667-MIRO (6476) or by e-mail at
upro@mirotech.com.

"With UPRO-99, MiroTech reaffirms its commitment to Reconfigurable
Computing," said Pierre Popovic President of MiroTech Microsystems. "We
have listened to our university customers' requests for low-cost teaching
and development reconfigurable computing platforms. Together, with our
suppliers, we have developed this program to provide the educational market
with a true one-stop solution."

"Xilinx is pleased to be a participant in MiroTech's UPRO-99 program," said
Sandeep Vij, Vice President of Marketing and General Manager of the High
Performance FPGA Business Unit at Xilinx. "As a long-time partner in our
developers program, MiroTech has demonstrated through its unique X-CIM
architecture how FPGA technology can be applied successfully to high
performance reconfigurable applications such as digital signal processing.
We're confident that the UPRO-99 program will lead to new developments in
the exciting field of reconfigurable computing."

In keeping with its channel strategy, MiroTech has extended UPRO-99 to all
its value added resellers (VARs) and independent sales representatives
(ISRs). This will enable all MiroTech VARs and ISRs the ability to offer
the full benefits of UPRO-99 to all pre-existing university contacts.

=====  PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS  =====

MIROTECH:
Founded in 1992, MiroTech Microsystems is a technology driven Canadian
company focusing on the development of reconfigurable acceleration modules.
The company's product strategy is to provide DSP systems manufacturers with
acceleration modules based on reconfigurable computing platforms. MiroTech,
for five years a pioneer in reconfigurable computing, has developed a
powerful product line of FPGA-based reconfigurable computing platforms.
Based on the Xilinx 4000 family of FPGAs, this product line is now
available to the educational market through the UPRO-99 program. For more
information please visit MIROTECH or e-mail us at
upro@mirotech.com.

XILINX:
Xilinx is the leading innovator of complete programmable logic solutions,
including advanced integrated circuits, software design tools, predefined
system functions delivered as cores, and unparalleled field engineering
support. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in San Jose, Calif., Xilinx
invented the field programmable gate array (FPGA) and today commands more
than half of the world market for these devices. Xilinx solutions enable
customers to reduce significantly the time required to develop products for
the computer, peripheral, telecommunications, networking, industrial
control, instrumentation, high-reliability/military, and consumer markets.
For more information, visit the Xilinx web site at www.xilinx.com.

MINC:
Founded in 1987, MINC Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in
Colorado Springs, CO. MINC is a technology leader in synthesis tools for
programmable logic. MINC was one of the first companies to support device
independent design and now supports over 6000 programmable logic devices
from 19 manufacturers including Xilinx. For more information, visit the
MINC web site at MINC.

SYNPLICITY:
Founded in 1994, Synplicity Inc. delivers the benefits of logic synthesis
to programmable device designers by providing them with fast, easy,
affordable, high-quality tools. Synplicity products support
industry-standard design languages, and run on popular industry platforms.
