TITLE: SPIRAL INDUCTOR SOFTWARE

Spiral Inductor Analysis and Design Tool Now Available for $3 Per
                                 Session

OEA International teams with eECAD to offer Spiral on a per-use basis -
                     perfect for University programs

Mixed-signal and analog design tools are costly - usually too costly for
a University's engineering department budget. For example, OEA
International's SPIRAL[TM] tool (the one that produced the silicon-based
inductor shown in the screen image below) licenses for $40,000 per seat.
But with the growing importance of analog and mixed-signal design in
high-performance semiconductor devices, engineering students need
experience with tools of this caliber. Now it's possible to provide your
students with that experience without stretching your department's
budget. In fact, during December use is free to University users.

OEA International recently made SPIRAL available on the Web through
eECAD, a Web-based service that offers access to specialized EDA tools
for a usage fee rather than a lease fee. In the case of SPIRAL, the use
fee is as little as $3.00 per session. That's easily within the lab-fee
budget of most engineering students.

SPIRAL is the first of several of OEA's advanced signal integrity,
mixed-signal, and analog design tools that will be made available via
the eECAD service. OEA International is a twelve-year-old company that
develops specialized analog and mixed-signal tools for the
high-performance semiconductor design market. OEA's customers include
Intel, National Semiconductor, Advanced Micro Devices, and Sun
Microsystems - companies that have used OEA's tools for years to help
develop advanced microprocessors, mixed-signal, and analog components.
For a full description of OEA's tools, visit OEA WWW. For
information on how to access SPIRAL on eECAD, visit
EECAD WWW. When you access SPIRAL, use sales code
1000011.

SPIRAL is one of OEA's most recent products. It is a software program
that is used to design, characterize, and optimize spiral inductors on
silicon, GaAs, ceramic, and printed circuit boards. It may also be used
to create and model multi-spiral transformers for use in sensing and
filtering circuits.

SPIRAL inputs are general geometry descriptions, and SPIRAL generates a
completely coupled SPICE sub-circuit model for use in system
simulations.

Some of the SPIRAL tool's more important characteristics are:

Uses field simulations to output fully coupled, optimally sectioned
     RCLM, S-parameter, and Z-parameter models
   * Generates single-metal, double-metal, double-deck, and differential
     spirals
   * Includes skin and substrate effects
   * Builds a GDSII layout of the finished spiral design
