Data obtained daily from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, after converting the European Monetary Union's euro into punts according to the European Central Bank's irrevocable euro conversion rates. Ireland linked the punt to the euro starting 1 Jan 1999. The punt was officially pulled from circulation 9 Feb 2002. After that date, you could (and can) exchange them in banks, but they were (and are) no longer legal tender.
