Since the role-based control was introduced in early 1970's, it has been regarded as a promising access control method. As a reference model for the role-based access control, the role graph model is suggested. However, its strict management of privilege prevents it from being applied to various applications. In this paper, therefore, we propose a flexible management of privilege using the refinement of privilege in the role graph model, and examine various cases, which can be happened using proposed method. We expect that it make system employing the role graph model more flexible and realistic.
