Simple Samosas

This is kind of like the Simple Naan recipe. You can make your own samosas, but we've found it easier to buy them. Yes, it's cheating, but it works when you're in a hurry or when you're cooking six other courses.

Ingredients

Directions

Heat about a 1/4-inch or more of oil in a frying pan or wok over a medium-high flame. Take the samosas from the freezer and fry on each side until it is light-medium brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with as many chutneys as you can muster (mango, onion, coriander, mint, sweet-and-sour, pepper, tamarind, ...).

Comments

You can buy frozen samosas in packs of 6 at Indian stores. Most also have packs of 40 or 50 ``cocktail samosas'' which are good for parties and pot-lucks. You can buy mango, coriander and mint chutneys at Indian stores as well.
