During the course, each student is required to write a five-page paper. The topic, purpose, and form of the paper are determined individual through consultation between the students' major advisor (within CURENT) or with the course instructor (outside of CURENT). The paper must address topics related to one or more of the seminars presented throughout the semester. Further, the paper must present a summary of previous academic and commercial developments relevant to the topic, and must present some new analysis or proposed solution not currently present in the literature.
The abstract should be one page maximum, clearly conveying the topic to be covered and the breadth of the study. .
Paper must be in proper IEEE Format
Previous papers written through the CURENT course have resulted in peer-reviewed publications and funded research proposals.
The final exam will consist of a take-home written exam. The exam will contain a problem set consisting of select questions related to each of the seminars presented throughout the semester. Student will be possible for answering a specified number of self-selected problems from this set.
The final exam is submitted digitally, via e-mail to the course instructor. The e-mail should contain one file per problem answered. The file names should have the student's last name, and problem number, e.g. "Costinett_P4.pdf"
