Area Lights
Area lighting in ray tracers is done by taking multiple samples along the surface of the light. I implemented a rectangular area light and I iterate along the height and the length of the light.
The following images demostrate how the number of samples affect the smoothness of the shadows. As the number of light samples increase, the resulting shadows in the image becomes smoother.
