Gryphons II Bridge Club
Gryphons II is a weekly duplicate bridge game at the
Knoxville Bridge Center.
It meets every Saturday morning at 11:00 (unless there
is a tournament nearby, in which case you are encouraged to
go to the tournament).
This was the web page for Gryphons II from 2001 until 2004, when
I stopped having time to manage it. However, the old hand writeups
are pretty interesting, so I've kept them below. Enjoy -- Jim.
- Coupon Books: buy 10 games in advance and get your 11th
game free. (Does not include extra charges for special games.)
- Hand Records: will be available after EVERY game for
anyone attending. They will also be available on the web.
- Handicap Scoring: play against the best and get points
added to your score if you are not as experienced (based on ACBL
master point holdings -- see below).
- Mini-Lesson: free 20-minute lesson starting at 10:20 and
you can help pick the topics!
- Lunch/Smoke Break the official policy is to have one
12-minute break for a snack or a smoke. There will be slow play
penalties for repeat offenders subject to the director's discretion.
- Hand Write-ups: Jim Plank and Kevin Wilson will periodically
email hand writeups and bidding challenges. They will also be posted
on this web page.
- Web Presence:
If you want more information about Gryphons, please send email to
Kevin Wilson: email@example.com
maintain a mailing list for Gryphons. We use this to send out
information on the game, and to send out weekly analyses of a hand or
two from the previous saturdays' game. If you would like to be on
the mailing list, please send mail to Kevin or Jim Plank (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I will try to keep this page as up to date as possible, but since
early 2002 I have been too swamped to do so. I'll keep the archival
information posted (writeups), but the schedule and results will
not be kept current. Sorry. That's life.
Information can be found at this link.
