I had someone reach out to me with a reasonable discussion. I thought I'd include it here.

I really respect this individual for reaching out to me about this, and it's always warming to hear responses to my argument from people with slightly different ideas who respect my opinion.

So I think I will clearly define my proposed changes to the student committment agreement. After seeing these changes, I will gladly sign.
  • The app clause must be entirely removed. The app is not the business of the univerity and is in direct violation of the 4th amendment.
  • The clause that expectations are subject to change. If I consent to an agreement, there had better be just one. No slowrolling.
  • The mask clause must be reconsidered. I think that some degree of desiring masks is appropriate and good faith. But I don't think that what the university is attempting is appropriate or helpful. I propose removing the requirement and replacing it with a recommendation.
