Caramel Apple Crunch

Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup oil
- 3 large tart apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
- 1/3 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, combine the oats, sugars, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
Add the oil and mix just until moistened. Put the apples, raisins,
and nuts into a 9-inch square baking pan and stir to mix. Sprinkle
the oat mixture on top.
Bake until the apples are tender, 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm.
