Indian Carrots and Peas

This is called Gajjar Mattar
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrots
- 1/2 pound peas
- 2 ounces oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon lovage seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- salt
Directions
Peel, scrape and slice carrots into 1/4 inch thick slices.
Heat oil, add cumin, mustard, and lovage seeds. When
they pop, add turmeric and chili powder.
Stir fry for a few seconds, then add carrots, peas, and salt.
Stir to mix well. Sprinkle water
on top. Cover tightly and cook on gentle heat until carrots are
tender. Serve hot, sprinkled with garam masala.
