Welcome to the Emrich group at Tennessee-Knoxville!
A common theme in our research is deriving longer-range computational problems through helping our experimental colleagues with bioinformatics needs. This has helped keep us on the leading computational edge of high-throughput sequencing analysis and informatics by, for example, co-leading multiple international genomics efforts such as the Anopheles genome cluster, i5k, and VectorBase.
We are also currently developing software tools for non-model genomic data, especially those derived from ecological studies, which are made available here. This work is largely externally funded by multiple awards from the National Institutes of Health.
