note: for 430/594 UNIX Network Programming and Routing courses:
we have been using a small lab set up with 3-5 Cisco series 2500
routers and 2 Cisco series 4000 routers. Students thus get hands-on
practice configuring a small network of 5-7 actual routers: they
configure the network for static and dynamic (RIP & OSPF) routing
using the standard Cisco IOS commands.
