Simulated PMU measurements (Back to the homepage)
PMU measurements are created as output from 40s time-domain simulations by using TSAT software, where the integration step is 0.25 cycle and the sampling rate is 30Hz. Duration of calculated transient and PMU sampling rate here are sufficient to observe the electro-mechanical oscillation in the range of 0.1-15Hz. Simulated PMU measurements provide full observability of the system including voltage magnitude and phase of all buses, current magnitude and phase of all branches from both sides, rotor speed and angle of all generators.
Assuming full observability of the system is important for testing algorithms for locating the source of oscillations. That allows the development of effective algorithms and the requirements for a necessary observability of the system by PMU measurements, including possible measurements of angle and speed of generators.
