Programming for Scientists and Engineers

Introduce programming and computational science and engineering to graduate students in the sciences and engineering. Problem solving and algorithm development. Might use various programming languages such as C++, Python, or others as needed.

Summer Sections
This course is broken into two different sections depending on your student status. All students will register through MyUTK.
Course materials and grading is identical between both sections.
Section 1 (85100)
Students NOT registered as distance learning only must register for COSC 505 - Section 001 (Course Registration Number: 85100). The on-campus recitation may be virtualized using conferencing software, such as Zoom. Students will be notified in advance whether the on-campus recitation is in-person or telecon.
Section 2 (85392)
Students registered as distance learning only must register for COSC 505 - Section 002 (Course Registration Number: 85392). Special permission is required from the instructor to register for this course.
There is no difference between the two sections except that distance-only students are not permitted to register for section 1.
